Overview:

The 2019 Escondido team set the bar at the quarterfinals and the 2020 team has a goal to get beyond that ! They are looking to take the next step now being moved up a Division and facing top competition . A veteran team the Cougars will be in contention for League and a Division 3 Championship .

Offense :

QB Robbie Ramos leads the offense, he has been starting for the Cougars since he was a freshman and is close to breaking the Escondido all time passing record, he currently holds the single game passing record of 451 Yards and 6 TD’s vs Orange Glen last season , NAU and Cal-Poly are D1 Schools that are looking his way . Ramos will have a dynamic weapon in Tajae Brooks who is one the best deep threat WR’s in the county and currently holds many lower division offers and is being looked at by Mountain West Schools . Abraham Perez will start at RB he will run behind an OL lead by Senior Nate Davidson (6’5 , 310) he holds a 4.0 GPA . Other good athletes on offense will be Brody Mossbarger , Nick Mora and Jack Turner Perkins .

Defense :

On Defense 3 year starting LB Jesus Fraga will lead the way he is a sideline to sideline player with skill and speed , Kevin Gash is a 6’3 lockdown Corner that will lead the DB unit , Elijah Joyce would of been starting at Safety but he moved to Florida, the team misses him and still considers him part of the squad . The Defensive Line unit will the be strongest they’ve had in years according to Coach Bordman “Speed, Size, Strength going be exciting to watch them! ” Maximus Mendez will standout says Coach “ he is one of the strongest players we have ever had at Escondido his strength and Speed will be an issue for teams ”. The Cougars have a well rounded defense .
