In depth look at what is coming when the Fall season kicks off in August .

1. Cathedral Catholic / 5th Ranked in CA

The Dons can accomplish something special in the fall , they went 5-0 in the Spring season dominating the competition and have their main core of guys coming back . Charlie Mirer returns at QB along with 3 ⭐️ WR Rex Haynes and slot receiver Derick Woo . A coaches dream is to return its entire Offensive Line and that’s what coach Doyle and his staff will have with returners Tavita Letuli , Dylan Fortune, Preston Lauifi-Tufaga , Louie Lauifi-Tufaga and Erik Cole they will be one of the best OL units in the state and open up the lanes for Star running back lucky Sutton and backup Darian Whaley . Jaxson Moi is one of the best defensive lineman in California and will anchor a defense that features D1 recruits Harmon Savaiinae , Tano Letuli , Marcus Ratcliffe and Donovan Saunders . The Sky is the limit for this Dons team .

2. Carlsbad / 6th Ranked in CA

The Lancers exceded all expectations in the spring season going 5-0 and dominating the competition with a relatively young team . Aiden Sayin will depart for the University of Pennsylvania but leaves the QB position in good hands with his younger brother Julian Sayin who is already a national recruit and has the potential to be the next great QB to come out of San Diego . Sayin will have veteran weapons in Wide Receivers Josh Davis and Matthew Moore both had breakout seasons as Juniors, a strong running game will be led by Paolo Burak and Anthony Ferrelli . The OL will need to replace some departing seniors but has Darrell Murphy and Matthew Bryant returning . On defense the Linebacking core returns starters Barrett Brennan , Anthony Ferrelli , Paolo Burak and DE’s Christian Sarem and Dominic Marin .

3. Mission Hills / 16th Ranked in CA

The Grizzles showed why they are one of the most consistent teams in San Diego, they went 5-0 and dominated the competition in the spring . QB Gunnar Hensley had a breakout year and will be one of the best Senior QB’s , his favorite target speedster WR Matt Martin returns along with a strong run game led by Caanan Ridill . On defense LB Jaiden Letua is a thumper along with LB Peter Eyabi who recently picked up an offer from Idaho will lead the front seven and Safety Jordan Dwyer will lead the secondary. The Grizzles will be contending for the Avocado league and an Open Division Championship.

4. Lincoln / 20th Ranked in California

The Hornets will have one the fastest teams in the State with 4 ⭐️ Jalil Tucker and 3 ⭐️ Jahlil Florence leading the WR and DB units . Dual threat QB Samuel Cooper IV will be back along with Running Back Rodrick Robinson who recently picked up an offer from San Diego State. On defense the Hornets have some young prospects in Christopher Fewell , David Peevy , Josiah Cox , Cayden Dawson and Kendall Williams who is the best Lineman Returning .

5. La Jolla Vikings

The Vikings have had quite the run the past two seasons winning a CIF Championship and going undefeated in the spring including an impressive win vs Helix . The Vikings look set to continue their upward trend however they do graduate a big group of talented seniors but nonetheless have talent coming back . QB Jackson Stratton just committed to the University of Washington he is a big time gunslinger that will have a big time WR in Makai Smith coming back from injury along with Max Raulston and Mason Powers should make for a strong passing game . Big time players on defense like Max Smith and Alessandro Demoreno will be graduating so will have to wait and see what they roll out on defense in the fall .

6. Eastlake Titans

The Titans had a great Spring going 4-0 and winning league with a young team . Freshman QB Johnny Limon showed potential and will be back with experienced weapons in WR’s Jordan Blondin and Jaydin Jackson . On defense Trey White is a monster along with LB Christian Aguilar and DL Isaiah Hinojosa they will have one the best defensive units in the County .

7. St. Augustine

The Saints went 2-2 in the spring winning a big game week 1 vs Helix . In the fall they will return a solid core , Freshman QB Iosefa Letuli got some playing time in the final game of the season vs Lincoln and showed promise he will have weapons in Ayo Shotomide , Jeremiah Flomo McClure and Justin Johnson . RB Isaiah Pressley will return and run behind a big OL featuring Misael Sandoval , Adan Luna and Luke Bolin. On defense Oregon Commit Gracen Halton will lead the way along with Justin Stearns and Jake Bolin. Look for the Saints to make some noise .

8. Torrey Pines

The Falcons struggled early in the spring season but rebounded with wins at El Camino and LCC . Sophomore QB Remi Baere saw some playing time along with young weapons Wyatt Gardner, Easton Clements and Griffin Grant . The Offensive Line will be strong with D1 Recruit Jagger Filippone and Matthew Staycer .

9. Mater Dei Crusaders

The Crusaders started of with a big win vs Helix but lost two big games vs Otay and Eastlake they do have a ton of talent returning. QB Dominic Nankil will take over he currently holds an offer from New Mexico State , Sophomore RB Nico Mosely had a breakout year along with returning Offensive Lineman Joey Hiner and Shane Cagle . A deep skill group will feature D1 Recruits Chris “Boom” Snyder , Surahz Buncom, Brian Dukes Jr and Anthony McMillian . The Crusaders will have one the best LB cores in the county with National recruit Tre Edwards and Returning LB’s Vincent Friend and Jeremiah Cook .

10. Granite Hills Eagles

The Eagles had a great Spring Season defeating Helix and winning the Grossmont League. They have some key players graduating but also have a young group of guys ready to Compete . Joaquin Thomas is one the best athletes in the 2023 Class along with Joshua Zander and Jordan Glaze will make a solid skill group for the Eagles . Defensive End Zach Burton will lead the Defensive.

11. Helix Highlanders

The Highlanders played with a really young team due to the fact that several of their big time D1 Recruits opted out of the Spring Season , the young Helix teams struggled going 2-4 but it could benefit them in the future as several players got valuable experience. Freshman QB Ryland Jessie showed improvements as the season progressed he will have a deep group of receivers in Xavier Van , Jaylen Hall and Darias James . Christian Washington is one of the best RB’s in the County .

12 . El Camino Wildcats

The Wildcats will have one of the best Lineman units in the County led by Mackavelli Malotumau, Jacob Laga , Taj Tavale , Genesis Seumalo and John Mckenzie . QB Kiah Reid is a three year starter he will have solid skill group in Tate Reid , Broderick Washington , Marquis Bell and Ryan Seau.

13. Poway Titans

The Titans had a great spring season going undefeated and winning the Palomar league. They have some key players like Vance Jefferson graduating but will have some young talent to showcase . QB Dylan Curry had a great Sophomore year he will have some weapons on offense with RB’s Eric Grant , Luke Gonzalez and Wide Receiver Tyler Burmeister .

14. Otay Ranch Mustangs

Otay Ranch had a solid spring season with a big win at Mater Dei . Sophomore QB Brian Rudden showed potential he will have weapons in TE’s Armando Rodriguez, Osvaldo Avila and WR Alvin Okere .

15. Santa Fe Christian

The Eagles had a great spring season going 5-1 and winning league. QB Thomas Greupner is one of the best Dual Threats in the county he will have his favorite weapon coming back in Zach Marshall and TE / DE Luca Torti .
