Overview:

The Patriots will be led by a new face for the first time since 1999 under new Head Coach, Danny Mitchell, and could be a hidden gem in Division 2. They are senior heavy and have arguably one of the most talented teams in school history. The first “hidden gem” is All-Purpose Athlete Jack St. Fleur, Coach Mitchell says “Jack is our captain and heartbeat of the team. I’d rank him as one of the top student-athletes I’ve ever had the chance to coach at the High School level.” The Patriots will be led by 3 Star QB Gabe Krug. Mitchell can’t wait to have the opportunity to watch Krug run the Offense. He stated, “Krug has a ton of similarities, style wise when comparing him to Notre Dame commit Tyler Buchner (Coach Mitchell was Buchner’s Offensive Coordinator last season). Gabe is as tough as they come, a phenomenal runner and accurate passer, and the type of person you want leading your team.” Krug will be protected by a veteran Offensive Line led by 6’6” 250lb Tackle Cole Bryant and 4.1 GPA Center Andrew Carlock.

Senior QB Gabe Krug is ranked a 3 ⭐️ by 247 Sports

Other Senior standouts include LB/RB’s Noah and Nathan Pisia, LB Andrew Young, DE Eric Markowiscz, and DL Alonzo Glenn leading the front of the Defense. Look for WR/DB Carson Stroman to be a focus point as well on both sides of the football. Although the Patriots are senior heavy, Mitchell is equally as excited about the underclassmen talent. Juniors, JC Gustin, a WR/DB transfer from LJCD, and WR/DB Isaiah Givens have the size, speed, and grades to play football beyond their high school years. The sophomore class is “loaded” as well, according to Mitchell. Joey Merritt and Chris Akridge are among the most talented WR/DBs in the 2023 Class, and Sophomore Jake Davila is already pushing to be the next standout QB in the long lineage of Christian High QBs . LB Aaron Shebloski is another young player that will make noise along with Kicker Hunter Providence . Mitchell concludes, “We are excited about the culture we are creating at Christian. We are playing well coached, talented programs, and all we can ask for is the opportunity to hit the field again.”
